Where Love and Truth Prevails

Where Love and Truth Prevails

1 Corinthians 13:7(NKJ)

“Love beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, and endureth all things.”

Looking at these four characteristics, Jesus knew we would need help down here on earth.  That’s why when Jesus ascended into Heaven, He told us that he would send us a helper.  He sent us the Holy Spirit to comfort and give us strength to go through the different seasons of our lives. It is only thru Christ that we can sustain the winds and seasons of change.  From the coldest of winters to the warmness of spring, in any season of our lives, love finds strength, encouragement, expectation, and forgiveness.

1 Corinthians 13:13 (Amp)

“ And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.”

We know that charity is love, therefore, love is the greatest. Love can be found in the simplest of things such as a helping hand, a smile, a prayer, or phone call.  The list can go on and on.  But the greatest and most unconditional love can be found in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”  This one selfless act laid the foundation of what true love is.  It is laying aside self to reach those who are hurting and lost.  Jesus also taught us the second greatest commandment, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  In today’s world, love and peace are the two things that people long for the most.  So many people have said, “All I want is a season of peace”.   When we find eternal salvation and realize the depth of love God has for each of us, it is there we find the peace we’ve long for.  We can help others find this peace by loving them as Christ loved us.  Imagine what our lives, our town and city would be like if we each one loved one another the way God loved us.

FOR LOVE BEARETH, BELIEVETH, HOPETH, AND ENDURETH.
