Taylor “TJ” Elliott, Jr.,
85, beloved husband of Laura Mae Lynch Elliott, departed this life on Wednesday,
November14, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Elliott was born
the son of Henry Taylor Elliott and Minnie Josephine Green Elliott on July
7, 1933 in Andrews. He was a 42 year retired employee with International
Paper Company where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
He was an United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting and
was a former member of the Puncheon Creek Hunting Club. His greatest
enjoyment was being the “community gardener” giving joyfully to all.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, caring
brother, and a loyal friend.
He is survived by:
his wife, Laura Mae; three children, Donnie (Debbie) Elliott, Shelia Phipps,
and Michael Elliott, Sr.; ten grandchildren, Shawn (Francis) Elliott, Terry
(Ashley) Elliott, Ernie Jones, Jimmy (Tammy) Jones, Christy Taylor, DJ
Phipps, Hallie Phipps, Michael Elliott Jr., Amanda Elliott, and Taylor
Elliott; twelve great-grandchildren, Shawna Elliott, Abigail Elliott, Donnie
Michael Elliott, Brooke Elliott, Cloe Elliott, Dustin Jones, Daniel Jones,
Renee Jones, Austin Jones, Harley Taylor, James Taylor Jr., and Jayden
Galloway; and a great-great grandson, Noah Pope. He is also survived
by: two brothers, Herman “Dunham”(Frances) Elliott and Louis Elliott;
five sisters, Cleo Elliott, Pearly Bass, Louise Ryals, Patricia Stone,
and Carolyn (Bud) Stone; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased
by: his parents; two grandchildren, Brandy Elliott and Far Elliott;
and two brothers, Ducky Elliott and Ronnie Elliott.
A Celebration of Life
Service with Military Recognition will be 2PM, Saturday, November 17, 2018
at the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will
be Pastor Brett Gardner and Ricky Glisson. Interment will follow
in the Bethel Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral
The Elliott family
will receive family and friends prior to the service from 12Noon – 2PM
in the church sanctuary.
