Shirley Ann Ackerman Lambert
Shirley Ann Ackerman Lambert,
78, the widow of Clyde Raymond Lambert, went home to be with the Lord,
Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Lambert was born the
daughter of Army Dewey Ackerman and Nonie Elliott Ackerman on September
25, 1936 in Andrews. She was raised by Horace Lloyd Ackerman and
Ozzie Lambert Ackerman. She was the owner of Shirley’s Restaurant and was
a member of the Earles Pentecostal Holiness Church. Though words could
never fully describe all her life, she committed her life to acts of selfless
giving and an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished titles –
Beloved Mother and Cherished Friend.
She leaves behind:
two daughters, Minnie Lee (Douglas Delaney) Lambert, and Barbara “Babby”
L. (Ron) Player; two grandchildren, Mandy Paige Player and Andrew Douglas
Delaney; and two great-grandchildren, Kailey Jayne Barrineau and LeeWayne
Barrineau; two brothers, Ronald David (Martha) Ackerman and Rev. Lloyd
Horace (Alice) Ackerman; and two sisters, Mary Anne (Edward) Richardson
and Lois A. (Jimmy) Davis.
She was predeceased by:
her parents; her husband; a daughter, Tammella Denise Ackerman; two brothers,
Bobby Ackerman and Dewey Ackerman; and five sisters, Odessa A. Bass, Nellie
A. Johnson, Kathleen A. Wilson, Marvelle A. Elliott, and Selma Lou Locklier.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 3PM, Monday, February 9, 2015, at the Earles Pentecostal Holiness
Church. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery directed by
the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
In honor of Ms. Shirley’s
legacy of great southern cooking and dining, the Lambert family will receive
family and friends immediately after the service at a dinner in the Family
