Rev. Steve Wilson

Rev. Stephen Dale Wilson, 61, the beloved husband of Marcia Piatt Wilson, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Wilson was born the son of Tilman Wilson and Esther Wilson Ward on January 25, 1954 in Georgetown.  He was a retired employee with International Paper Company where he served as Union President.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors, however, nothing could outmatch the love for his family.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather, cherished brother, and a loyal friend. His smile brighten the darkest room and his faith was contagious to all those around him.  The Cross was his greatest passion and God’s word his first love.  Rev. Wilson began his Christian journey on December 1, 1997.   He became a licensed minister with the South Carolina Pentecostal Holiness Conference on June 21, 2002  and was ordained on June 21,2003.     He served as pastor of the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church for 14 years.  He lived his life like “a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river…” (Jeremiah 17:8).    He was a pillar of strength to our community and a resource of prayer for everyone.  His roots will forever remain a foundation of hope to every life that he touched.
Steve and Marcia were married on November 12, 1972 and celebrated 43 years together.  Their home was blessed with:  three children, Tonya W. Moore, Josh (Jennifer) Wilson and Kyle Wilson; and four grandchildren, Chelsea M. (Chris) Howard, Kerstyn Moore, Kailey Moore, and Skylar Radcliffe.   He also leaves behind:  eight brothers, James (Margie) Wilson, Bobby (Bertha) Wilson, Rocky Ward, Leroy (Patricia) Ward, Glen (Patsy) Ward, Charles (Linda) Ward, Kenneth (Lynn) Ward, and Nuel (Kitty) Wilson; four sisters, Mary (Bobby) Cox, Kitty (Joe) McCants, Patsy Wilson, and Elaine (Dreyfus) Hutson; two sister-in-laws, Elanor Wilson and Rita Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by:  his parents; and two brothers, David Wilson and Phillip Wilson.
A Home Going Celebration with recognition of distinguish Christian Service will be 4PM, Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Interment directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home will follow in the family cemetery located at the Wilson Home.
Visitation will be 6-8PM, Tuesday evening, October 13, 2015, in the sanctuary of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilson Family.
