Mr. Rembert Lee Raines, Jr., 76, beloved husband of Joyce Marie Wood Raines, departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at his residence.  
Mr. Raines was born the son of Rembert Lee Raines Sr. and Vista Jordan Raines                 on December 1, 1942 in Bennettsville, SC.  He was a graduate of Timmonsville High School and was the first recipient of the John Sousa Music Award.  He was a retired United States Navy Veteran.  He enjoyed golf and his weekly “board meetings at McDonalds”.  His smile and laughter were contagious as he lived life “picking and a grinning”.
He leaves behind:  his wife; two children, Annette (Mike) Buie and Renee (Mark) Windham; three step children, Carl (Reta) Jacks, Daniel (Krystal) Jacks, Jennifer (Charlie) Geiss; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.  He also leaves behind: two sisters, Shelby (Gareth) Welch and Carolyn Webb.
He was predeceased by: his parents; a brother, Morris Raines; and a sister, Sue O’Neal.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
