Riley Fair Wendell, Jr., 80, beloved husband of Barbara Jean Casselman Wendell, departed this life, Sunday, December 15, 2019 at his residence. 
Mr. Wendell was born the son of Riley Fair Wendell and Margaret Ethel Thomas Wendell on September 15, 1939 in Georgetown. He was a retired 37 year employee with International Paper Company where he was President of the local #377 and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.  He was a member of the First Church Of The Nazarene of Georgetown.  He enjoyed collecting, buying, and trading antiques.  He loved reading mail especially “junk mail” and decorating for Christmas.  
He is survived by:  his wife, Barbara Jean; four children, Debra Chavis(Albert), Janice Smith(Brian), Teresa Rippy(Anthony), and Riley Wendell III(Nichole); eight grandchildren, Michael Smith, David Walker(Amy), Danielle Walker, Rachael Wollard(Chris) Taylor Matteson(Brett), Krista Wendell, Riley Wendell IV, and Piper Wendell; seven great-grandchildren, Macy, Blake, Hunter, Savannah, Brett, Cali, and Brayden.  He is also survived by:  two brothers, Dan Wendell and Larry Wendell(Diane); and two sisters, Katherine Plunkett(David) and Ethel Lynn Smith(Jerry).
 He was predeceased by:  his parents; a brother, Neal Wendell; and a sister, Leyola Shokes.
The Wendell family will receive family and friends from 6-8PM, Tuesday evening, December 17, 2019 at the Georgetown Chapel, 2156 North Fraser Street. 
A Private Service will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019 directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
