Rev. Christina Barsana Goude
Rev. Christina Barsana Goude, 63, the beloved wife of Rev. Wilson Ervin Goude, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Goude was born the daughter of John Franklin Cottingham and Ellaree Lee Cottingham on June 21, 1951 in Florence. She was a graduate of Goose Creek High School, Hartsfield Career Center, and Holmes Bible College. She was a retired nurse. Her highest calling was that of Christian Ministry. She served in ministry for over 40 years where she labored as an evangelist, pastor, singer, teacher, youth leader, and missionary; served as pastor at Community Church of Scranton; was a faithful member of the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church; and a former member of Unity Christian Fellowship. Her missionary work included many trips overseas to serve the people of West Africa, South Africa, Mozambe, and Trinidad, and domestic trips to serve the Navajo Indians in Arizona and the coal miners of West Virginia. Rev. Goude believed that “though her womb was barren, God gave her the children of the world to nurture in the admonition of God”
Christina and Ervin were married on May 17, 1993 and celebrate 21 years together. She leaves behind: her husband; two stepchildren, Wilson Ervin Goude, Jr. and David Earl (Gretchen) Goude; and four grandchildren, Renee, Jordan, Skylar, and Hayden. She also leaves behind: three sisters, Glenda Maria Barsana, Denise Cordeiro, and Kimberly Barsana; and two brothers, Michael Barsana and James Barsana. She is predeceased by: her parents; and a brother, Mark Barsana.
A Home Going Celebration will be 6PM, Thursday evening, August 21, 2014, at the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. The Goude family will receive family and friends immediately after the service in the church sanctuary.
A Committal Service will be 1PM, Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 3652 Olanta Hwy, Timmonsville, SC 29161. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
