Omeca McCutchen, 84, a beloved father
and the widower of Janetta Marie Ard McCutchen, went home to be with the
Lord, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. McCutchen was born a son of Willie
David McCutchen and Mettie Lucille Barrineau McCutchen on September 16,
1929, in Kingstree. He served in the US Air Force and was a member
of the Black River Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. McCutchen was a
devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, and
cherished brother; a man of solid character and of firm moral standards
who leaves a legacy trustworthy and true.
Omeca and Janetta were married February
15, 1951 and celebrated 55 years together. Their union was blessed
with three children: Dalton (Delores) McCutchen, Harold (Toni) McCutchen,
and Wanda (Joe) Altman; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
He also leaves behind one sister, Margery M. Taylor, and a number of nephews
and nieces.
He was predeceased by his wife; and
six siblings, Maude Goins, Jessie McCutchen, Willie David “Dee” McCutchen,
Nettie McCrea, Vermel Bruce, and Franklin McCutchen
A Home Going Celebration will be 11
AM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Black River Free Will Baptist Church
with interment in the Piney Forest Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel
of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5-8PM, Friday,
June 6, 2014 at the Andrews Chapel.
