Mr. Owens was born the son of Roy Luther Owens and Nettie Mae Cribb Owens in Hemingway, SC. He was a certified welder with BP Chemical Plant, Wando, SC. He was an avid golfer and he attended Owens Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, caring brother, and a loyal friend.
Terry and Janet were married on October 17, 1986 and celebrated 32 years together. Their home was blessed with: two sons, Joel Terry Owens and Nolan (Fara) Jackson; a stepson Brian Keith Cribb; a grandson, Manning; and loved as his own grandchildren, Katie Cribb, Tony Cribb, and Harley Parker. He also leaves behind: six brothers, Roy Luther “RL” (Claudia) Owens, Martin LaGrande (Billie Anne) Owens, Gordon McNair (Audatte) Owens, Randolph Ken (Patricia) Owens, Phillip Oneal (Mary Frances) Owens, and Charles Larry (Deborah) Owens; three sisters, Marilyn Nell Owens, Onda Ann (William) Green and Wanda Mae Green; a sister-in-law, Nancy Owens; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by: his parents; and a brother, Franklin Lotrell Owens.
A Celebration of Life will be 2 PM, Thursday, February 7, 2019, at the New Good Hope United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Wayne Elliott. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Wednesday evening, February 6, 2019, in the sanctuary of New Good Hope UMC.
