Nancy Jordan Wright
Nancy Jordan Wright, 76,
the beloved wife of Raymond Wilmont Wright, passed through the valley of
the shadow of death as the Lord, her Shepherd, led her into His house forever
on Friday morning, January 15, 2016.
Mrs. Wright was born the
daughter of Alex Jordan and Margaret Miller Jordan on July 28, 1939 in
Hemingway. She was a 1974 charter member of the Six Mile Crossing
Church of God where she faithfully served as a Choir Director, in the Prison
Ministry, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Cottage Prayer Meetings.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister,
and loyal friend. The words of her favorite song became her life’s
Legacy – “Lord, I ready to do your perfect will.”
Wilmont and Nancy were married
on October 29, 1964 and celebrated 51 years together. Their
home was blessed with: three children, Margaret Ann (John D.) Evans, Ramona
W. (Rev. Obed P.) Ortiz, and Raymond Wilmont “Bubba” (Lisa) Wright, Jr.;
eight grandchildren, Michael Jacobs, April Evans, Ashlyn Mattox, Vivian
Wright, Joanie Britt, Caroline Mattox, Justin Wright, and Jackson Mattox;
and five great-grand children, Kailee Jacobs, Austin Baker, John John Baker,
Alyssa Britt, and Johnnie Britt. She also leaves behind: a sister,
Laney Jordan; and a sister-in-law, Clara Bell Jordan.
She was predeceased by:
her parents; three brothers, John Jordan, Joe Jordan, and Jimmy Jordan;
and a sister, Clara Lee Hamlin.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 2 PM, Monday, January 18, 2016, at the Six Mile Crossing Church
of God, 2743 Kent Rd, Georgetown, SC. Interment will follow in the
Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral
Visitation will be 5-8 PM,
Sunday, January 17, 2016, in the sanctuary of the Six Mile Crossing Church
