Mildred Catherine Atkinson, 55, the widow of George C. Pipkin, departed this life, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.  
 Mrs. Atkinson was born the daughter of Frank Louis Atkinson and Donna Hill Atkinson on November 3, 1962 in Coos Bay, Oregon.  She was a 1980 graduate of Andrews High School and attended Williamsburg Technical College.  She was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.  She is remembered as a loving mother, sister, and friend; strong willed and determined in every challenge of life; and a survivor of every storm and difficulty in life.
 She was blessed with five children, Renee Pipkin, Jennifer (Trevor) N. West, B.J. (Tammy) Pipkin, Blake Harrington and Steven Nesmith; her grandchildren, Jacelyn West and Daxton West.  She also leaves behind: two brothers, Harold D. “Little Frank” Atkinson and Earl C. Atkinson; and a sister, Ka’Renia Atkinson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
 She was predeceased by:  her parents; her husband, George; and her son, Steven.
Graveside service will be 2PM, Monday, October 29, 2018 at Piney Forest Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.  Officiating will be Pastor Lee Walters.
