Linda Wheeler Dingle, the
widow of Claude Treadwell “Ted” Dingle, III, who fought the good fight
and kept the faith, received her victor’s crown, Saturday, April 11, 2020
at Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital.
Mrs. Dingle was born the
daughter of Norward Brooks Wheeler and Bonnie Meshaw Wheeler on September
7, 1946 in Rockingham, NC. She was a 1965 graduate of Andrews High
School and attended the University of South Carolina Coastal Campus.
She was a retired Lab Administrative Assistant for International Paper
Company, a former substitute teacher for the Georgetown County School District,
and a successful Mary Kay consultant. She was a volunteer for
local Hospices; served as a former President for the Georgetown County
Chapter of The American Diabetes Association; was voted “Woman of the Year”
for Georgetown County; and was a faithful member of Wayne United Methodist
Church where she served as pianist and on numerous committees for many
years. She was a talented and skilled musician sharing her
gift as a piano teacher, entertainer for numerous local nursing homes,
and many local churches. Linda leaves a Godly legacy of a Servant’s
Heart as she sacrificially and completely gave her utmost as a devoted
wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister, loyal friend,
and a faithful servant. “Beauty is passing; but a woman that fears the
Lord, she shall be praised.
She is survived by:
her mother, Bonnie; her daughter, Wendy Dingle-Grant of Pawleys Island;
a granddaughter, Lillian “Lily” C. Grant of Pawleys Island; a brother,
Steve Wheeler (Brenda) of Andrews; a sister, Donna Wheeler Green (Will)
of Spartanburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by:
her father; her husband; an infant brother, William Craig Wheeler; and
a brother and sister-in-law, Norward Wheeler, Jr. (Julia “Julie” Padgett
Due to the COVID19, the Dingle
family will have a private Graveside Service. At a later date we will announce
a public Celebration of Life recognizing Mrs. Linda’s Distinguished Christian
and Community Service.
All local florists are open
to receive orders. Linda loved her flowers.
