Lena Mae Driggers Ward, 91,
the widower of Walter Raymond Ward, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday,
July 5, 2020 at McLeod Health in Florence.
Mrs. Ward was born the daughter
of Clarence Frank Driggers and Helen Olivia Burkett Driggers on April 3,
1929 in Williamsburg County. She was a loved babysitting over years and
adored every little one entrusted to her care. She was a faithful
member of Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as
a choir member and Sunday School teacher for many years. Her greatest
enjoyment was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife,
loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister, and a loyal friend.
She is survived by:
two children, Mary Sue W. Creel (George) and Phillip R. Ward (Nanette);
three grandchildren, Candance Creel, Chip Creel (Lindsey), and Billie Camlin
(Andy); and seven great-grandchildren, Cody Camlin, Dru Camlin, Emorey
Camlin, CJ Creel, Ella Creel, Anna Grace Creel, and Christian Creel.
She is also survived by a sister, Aleen Salter.
She was predeceased by:
her parents; her husband; a sister, Margaret D. Ward; and four brothers,
Ralph Driggers, Eugene Driggers, Irving Driggers, and Willie James Driggers.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 10AM, Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness
Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dean Baber and Rev. Timothy McKenzie.
Burial directed by McKenzie Funeral Home will be private.
The Ward family will receive
family and friends immediately after the service in the church sanctuary.
