Lawrence Edward Martin, 69, beloved father and grandfather, departed this life Wednesday morning, November 6, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Martin was born the son of William Murphy Martin and Mary Earline Elliott Martin on June 24, 1944 in Kingstree.  He was a retired dragline operator with Martin-Marietta.  He attended the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to trap coyotes and foxes.  

He leaves behind:  four daughters, Sherry M. (Jimmy) Tomlin, Rebecca M. (Charles) Stone, Robin Denise M. Newton, and Valerie Nicole Martin; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and long time companion, Mary Lou Baylor.  He also leaves behind:  three brothers, W.M. (Iris) Martin, Ronnie (Doris) Martin, and Mark (Alicia) Martin; six sisters, Betty Jean Freeman, Coralee (Lonnie) Kaylor, Virginia (Jerry) Appleton, Cynthia Ann (Larry) Hughes, Carolyn Sue (Cornelius) Butler, and Martha Frances (Felder) Elliott; a sister-in-law, Susan Martin; and a brother-in-law, Jim O’orouke  

He was predeceased by:  his parents; a brother, Dan Martin; three sisters, Debra Lynn Cannon, Molly Mae Martin, and Minnie Pearl; and a brother-in-law, Frank Freeman.
A Home Going Celebration will be 11 AM, Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Interment will follow in the Spring Pond Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Friday evening, November 8, 2013 at the Andrews Chapel.
