Louise Hope Bonham St. John,
90, the widow of Carl Hembree St. John, Jr., went home to be with the Lord,
Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Embrace Hospice House.
Mrs. St. John was born the
daughter of Collie Daniel Bonham and Bertha Hope Bonham on August 7, 1929
in Wilmington, NC. She graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington,
NC in 1947. She was a active member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist
Church where severed faithfully in the Francis Asbury Sunday School Class,
was a member of the United Methodist Women, Cannon Price Circle, Evangelism
Committee, CBS Bible Fellowship, Monday Morning Bible Study, Helping Hands,
Kitchen “Angel” and was a Choir Member for over 30 years. She was
first and foremost a loving mother and grandmother. She was the “rock”
of the family and could always be counted on to lend a kind word, provide
direction, and sometimes lay down the law! She was God’s hand here
on this earth and all she really wanted to do was to Love God, love her
family, and help those in need.
She leaves behind: two children,
Donna St John Baker and Gary Daniel St. John(Karen); two grandchildren,
Ciara Hope Marlowe(Tyson) and Jeremy Lee Baker(Cambridge); two nieces,
two nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by:
her parents; her husband; and a sister, Hazel Bonham Harris.
A Service of Remembrance
will be 2:30PM, Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Duncan Memorial United Methodist
Church. Internment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens
directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
The St. John family will
receive family and friends prior to the service from 1:30PM – 2:30PM in
the church sanctuary.
