Lou Ann Chavis Cooper, 67,
went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Tidelands
Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Cooper was born the
daughter of the late Albert “Sonny Boy” Chavis and Ethel Gertrude Freeman
Chavis on April 23, 1954 in Georgetown. She was a retired employee
of Jamestown Wool Mill. She enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, and spending
time with her family. She was a member of the Sampit Pentecostal
Holiness Church family.
She leaves behind:
her mother, Ethel; two children, Randolph Scott “Scottie” Cooper and Tina
Cooper; six grandchildren, Carl, Alina, Taylor, Keith, Anna, and Jameson;
and a great-grandson, “E.J.”. She also leaves behind: a sister,
Diane Wendell (Larry); three brothers, Edward Chavis (Carrie), David Chavis,
and Albert Chavis (Debra); two special cousins and her caregivers, Donna
Pope and Ginger Goude; and a large number of aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews,
She was predeceased by:
her father; a son, Grady Randolph “Bubba” Cooper; her paternal grandparents,
Walter Chavis (Caroline); and her maternal grandparents, John Edward Freeman
A Celebration of Life Service
will be 11AM, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Sampit Pentecostal Holiness
Church directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Officiating will be Rev. Eddy Knight and Rev. Timothy McKenzie.
The Chavis-Cooper families
will receive family and friends immediately after in the church sanctuary.
