John Vernon Braddock
John Vernon Braddock, 88,
the beloved husband of Willow Mae Dease Braddock, finished his earthly
labors to receive his eternal reward on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at
Sumter Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sumter, SC.
Mr. Braddock was born the
son of William Frank Braddock and Mary Katie Boatwright Braddock on April
17, 1927 in Wadesboro, NC. He was a retired employee with O.J. Davis Auto
Service of Florence. He was a member of the Sounds of Victory Holiness
Church where he served as secretary/treasure since 2004 and was a member
on the Men’s Fellowship. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
John and Willow Mae were
married on May 10, 1950 and celebrated 65 years together. Their home
was blessed with: eight children, John Vernon Braddock, Jr., Frank
Alfred (Jan) Braddock, Allen Leroy (Carolyn) Braddock, David Wayne (Angie)
Braddock, Mark Vincent (Connie) Braddock, Lisa Renee Braddock Davis, Kevin
Daniel Braddock, and Paul Anthony Braddock; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He also leaves behind: a brother, Mallard Braddock; a sister, Shirley
“Pat” (Johnny) Altman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by:
his parents; a son, Paul Anthony; four brothers, George Braddock, Woodrow
Braddock, Robert “Bob” Braddock, and Frank “Jr” Braddock; and five sisters,
Mary Edwards, Gracie Mae Broach, Clara Davis, Joyce Doan, and Betty Hawkins,
A Home Going Celebration
will be 2PM, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Family Worship Assembly, 4311
US 52 Hwy, Coward, SC 29530, directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie
