James Theo Causey, 86, walked through
the Door of Heaven that was prepared for him through Jesus Christ, on Tuesday,
June 3, 2014, at Saint Mary’s Hospice House, Athens, GA.
Mr. Causey was born a son of Frank
and Lula Mew Causey on August 15, 1927 in Socastee. He was a Produce
Manager for A&P Food Stores. He was a devote Christian man who
served sacrificially over the years in church ministries including Deacon,
Elder, Sunday School Teacher & Superintendent, Adult Choir member,
and numerous church committees. His years of labors are
seen today in the Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Georgetown
First Assembly of God. Mr. Causey was a devoted husband, beloved
father, grandfather and great grandfather, and cherished brother; a man
of solid character and of firm moral standards who leaves a legacy trustworthy
Theo married Doris J. Nobles Causey
on June 22, 1949 and would have celebrated 65 years together this month.
Their union was blessed with five children: James “Jim” (June) Causey,
Sylvia (Bob} McConnell, Sue (Jimmy} Douglas, Jerry (Melody) Causey, and
Sheryl (Alan) Graham; eight grandsons and their families, Jared and Cherrel
Causey and children, Alyssa and Alex, Kirk and Stephanie McConnell and
son, Will, Travis and Amber Douglas and children, Trenton, Ethan, Brayden,
Landon and Emsley, Trevor and Allison Douglas and sons, Evan and Eli, Paul
and Suzanne Causey and children, Shannon and Micah, David and Nola Causey
and son, Titus, Matt and Michelle Graham, Stuart and KayCee Graham.
Mr. Causey was preceded in death by
his parents and three brothers, Elwood, Hubert and Frank Jr.
A Home Going Celebration will
be 11 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness
Church with interment at the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens directed by the
Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday in
the sanctuary of the Georgetown PH Church.
