Jeanette Mae Barker Nichols,
97, the widow of Garland Randal “Red” Nichols, went home to be with the
Lord, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Nichols was born the
daughter of William Thomas “W.T” Barker and Algie Mae Yarborough Barker
on April 10, 1923 in Spray, NC. She loved flowers, animals, and enjoyed
working in the yard. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist
Church. Her greatest joy and her life’s dedication was to her family.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister,
and a loyal friend.
She is survived by:
her daughter, Dawn Nichols Brown (Oneil); six grandchildren, Terri Brown,
Timmy Brown (Sarah), Rusty Brown (Shannon), Janet Bright (Randy), Tina
Newton (Wadus), and Randa Mellon (Rob); five step-grandchildren, Mike Wilson,
Chris Loope, Dora Lynn Dale (Bobby), Randal Hewitt (Tammy), and Michelle
Hewitt; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by:
her parents; her husband; a son, Garland Randal "Bubba" Nichols; a great-grandson
Josh Bedingfield; and a brother, Phillip Barker.
