John Frederick Davenport, 69, the beloved husband of Patricia Jo Davenport, departed this life, Friday, April 7, 2017 at MUSC.
Mr. Davenport was born the son Howard Searing Davenport and Freddie Mae Mize on May 15, 1947 in Dover, NJ.  He was a United States Coast Guard Veteran and was a retired School Teacher.  He lived his life as an educator in every aspect.  He loved sharing knowledge, mentoring, and coaching.  His sense of humor and laughter was uplifting and contagious.  He was a former member of Georgetown Baptist Church and was a current member of Piney Forest Baptist Church.
He leaves behind:  his wife; five children, William Bryant “Bill” Davenport, Eric Avery Briggs, Mary L. (Mark) Goodwin, John “Jack” Levesque, and Natahlie “Nat” (Donell) Lewis; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  He also leaves behind:  three brothers, Michael S. Davenport, Howard R. Davenport, and William S. Davenport; and a sister, Laura Ann Davenport.
He was predeceased by:  his parents; and a brother, Robert E. Davenport.
Funeral Service will be 11AM, Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Piney Forest Baptist Church directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
 Visitation will be 6-8PM, Thursday evening, April 13, 2017 at the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
