Junior Earl Cooper, 86, the
widower of Ireatha “Tillie” Folk Cooper, went home to be with the Lord,
Sunday, January 19, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Cooper was born the
son of Easmon Cooper and Beatrice Blakely Cooper on January 28, 1933 in
Creedmoor, NC. He was a retired employee of International Paper Company
and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a United States
Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Cooper lived
his life like the servant David, a man after God’s own heart. As
David prayed so did he, “Show me your way, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide
me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior.” (Psalm 24:4-5)
Because of his passion for leading others to the cross, his ministry was
influential in many churches including, Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church,
Eastside Free Will Baptist of the Pentecostal Faith, Calvary Original Free
Will Baptist, Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mr. Cooper was born the
third of fourteen children: Willie Mark Cooper (Lessie), Dorothy
Mae Bryant (Jesse), Lee David Cooper (Lucille), Margie Lean Snowden (Kibler),
Callie Rea Rogers (J.D.), Helen Faye Cribb (O.B.), Eldon “Bud” Cooper,
Clyde O’Neal Cooper, Connie Bell Todd (Edward), Felton Cooper (Frances
“Frankie”), Sammie Cooper (Frances “Frankie”), Betty Ann Shannon (William
Earl); and Everett “PeeWee” Cooper (Janet).
He is survived by: four
children, Lynette “Punkin” Cooper (Bobby), Loretta Stansel, Julie Goude
(Steve) and Jody Cooper Bailey; six grandchildren, Wilson Goude Jr., David
Goude (Gretchen), Dawn Ward (David), Shannon Miller (Jeremy), Cody Bailey,
and Aundria Premo (Dominic); eleven great-grandchildren, Renee Barnhill
(Tommy), Tristin Miller, Raven Stansel, Jordan Goude, Taylor Miller, Skylar
Goude, Hayden Goude, Ryan Premo, Jacob Premo, Jamie Premo, Sammie Premo;
and a great great-grandchild, Waylon Barnhill. He is also survived
by: two sisters, Connie Bell Todd and Betty Ann Shannon; a brother,
Everett Cooper; a sister-in-law, Lessie Cooper; and loved like a son and
best friend, Ervin Goude.
He was predeceased by:
his parents; his wife; his siblings, Willie Mark Cooper, Dorothy Mae Bryant
(Jesse), Lee David Cooper (Lucille); Margie Lean Snowden (Kibler), Callie
Rea Rogers (J.D.), Helen Faye Cribb (O.B), Eldon Cooper, Clyde O’Neal Cooper,
Felton Cooper (Frances), Sammie Cooper(Frances); a brother-in-law, Edward
Todd; and a sister-in-law, Janet Cooper.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 2PM, Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Interment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens directed by the
Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
The Cooper family will receive
family and friends from 6-8PM, Wednesday evening, January 22, 2020 in the
sanctuary of Rock PH Church
