Johnny Dalton “JD” Holmes, 69, departed this life Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his residence. 
Mr. Holmes was born the son of John Oliver Holmes and Mittie Lee Shokes Holmes on January 14, 1950.  Though never having received training, he was a skilled mechanic in small and large engines.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He had a kind gentle spirit and a heart of gold. 
He is survived by his siblings:  Judy H. (Charles) Allen, David Holmes, and Jackie Lynn (Cindy) Holmes.
He was predeceased by:  his parents; a sister, Vera H. (Robert) Burgess; and a brother, Donald Holmes.
A Graveside Service will be 2PM, Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Sampit United Methodist Church Cemetery. 
The Holmes family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 1-2PM in the Sampit United Methodist Church.
