James Herman Dunn (Jimmy), beloved husband of Jeanette Sorrow Dunn, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Williamsburg Regional Hospital.
Mr. Dunn, the son of James Franklin Dunn and Pearl Lofton Dunn, was born on July 25, 1936 in Andrews.  He was a 1954 graduate of Andrews High School.  He attended Emmanuel College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Presbyterian College of South Carolina.  He was the owner and operator of Dunn’s Variety Store.  Jimmy was a pillar in the Andrews community serving as Santa’s helper for many children and a “candy man” where he took brown bags of candy to the elderly and to his doctors.   He was a 15 year board member of the Georgetown County Water & Sewer District.  He was an Eagle Scout and an avid golfer.   He was a lifetime member of the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a deacon.  He was a devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, loving brother, and cherished friend.  He was a man of Godly character who leaves behind a Christian legacy to all who knew him.
Jimmy and Jeanette were happily married and spent 56 years together.  Their home was blessed with three children, James H Dunn, Jr. (DeAnne), Jana Carter (Terrell), and Jennifer Dunn Ward; and four grandchildren, Cameron Dunn, Trevor Dunn, Chase Carter, and Kristen Ward.   He also leaves behind a brother, Ben Dunn, and two sisters, Katherine Harrison and Jeanette Buice (Joe).  
He was predeceased by:  his parents, two sisters, Vivian Hardee (Ernest) and Rachael Jennings (Bill); and a sister-in-law, Beverly Dunn.
  A Home Going Celebration will be 2 PM, Tuesday, April 30th at the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
  Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Monday, April 29th, in the sanctuary of Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church,  112 North Magnolia Ave, Andrews, SC  29510.
