James Albert Hawkins, 70, a beloved father and the cherished husband of Elizabeth Brandon Hawkins, departed this life on Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hawkins was born the son of Cecil Arthur Hawkins and Angie Lee Williams Hawkins on March 10, 1942, in Sonora, KY. He was a 1960 graduate of Lyndale High School and was a Vietnam Conflict Air Force Veteran. He was a VFW member with his current membership at the Georgetown Chapter Post 6444.
He leaves behind: his wife of 44 years; three daughters, Bridget Hawkins, Hazel (Louie) Cameron, and Darlene Schultz; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; four brothers, Gene (Lavonna) Hawkins, David (Patricia) Hawkins, Calvin (Bobbie) Hawkins, and Howard Hawkins; and two sisters, Suzie (Gene) Peters and Betty Walters.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Ricky Lambert; four brothers, Kenneth Hawkins, Carlos Hawkins, Junior Hawkins, and Johnny Hawkins; and two sisters, Ruby Price and Edith Carroll.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be 1 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Sandridge Cemetery on Hwy 17-A directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday evening, February 1, 2013, at the Georgetown Chapel.
