Georgetown
Harriett Virginia Avant Moore, 88, a
beloved mother and the widow of Frank Spivey Moore, went home to be with
the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Moore was born the daughter of
Stephen W. Avant and Cynthia Cornelia Cribb Avant on July 14, 1925 in Georgetown
County. She was an employee with International Paper Company.
She was a faithful member of Friendfield Presbyterian Church for 67 years
where served in ministry as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed
spending time with family and friends, singing, dancing, and calling bingo.
She committed her life to acts of selfless giving and an unconditional
love for her family and those she knew to earn her the distinguished titles
– Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend.
She leaves behind: her
children, Donald Wayne “Duck” (Yevette) Moore, Frank Timothy “Tim” (Peggy)
Moore, and Kent Lee (Debbie) Moore; 12 grandchildren, Adrian R. Moore,
Aaron R. (Michele) Moore, Ashton R. (Krystin) Moore, Allyson R. Moore,
Dillon F. Moore, Wesley T. Moore, Kyla M. (Hank) Kraft, Samuel S. Moore,
Lauren E. Moore, Whitney M. (David) Martin, Zachary R. Moore, and Matthew
K. Moore; and 11 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind
a brother, Lavurn (Ann) Avant.
She was predeceased by: her parents;
her husband; three brothers, Grover Avant, Remar Avant, and James Avant;
and two sisters, Lizzie Elliott and Ina Williamson.
A Celebration of Life Service will
be 11AM, Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Friendfield Presbyterian Church.
Interment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens directed by the
Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Wednesday,
April 2, 2014 at the Georgetown Chapel.
