Howard Lavern Harrington, 85, the widow of Mary Joyce Newton Harrington, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. 
 Mr. Harrington was born the son of Carl Newell Harrington and Bessie Viola Poston Harrington on July 21, 1933 in Florence County.  He was a former employee with Andrews Wire Company and was a United States Army Veteran.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, caring brother and uncle, and a loyal friend.
 He leaves behind:  ten children, Lavern “Bug” Howard Harrington, Eva Lou (Donnie) Rhodus, Sheila H. (Tony) Ridgeway, Frank (Carol) Turberville, Teresa (William) Sylar, Brian (Keri) Harrington, Lainey (Gonzalo) Sanchez, April (Earl) Thornell, Heather (Willie) Cox, and Jason (Tiffany Herring) Harrington; twenty-two grandchildren; and twenty-six great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind:  two sisters, Betty H. (Roger) Roberts-Williams and Billie Jean H. Davis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
 He was predeceased by:  his parents; his wife; and four brothers, Douglas Eugene “Doug” Harrington, Joseph “Joe” Armstrong Harrington, Julian “Skunk” Kenneth Harrington, and Olan Harrington.
 A Home Going Celebration will be 3PM, Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
 The Harrington family will receive family and friends immediately after the service in the church sanctuary.
