Harold Edwin Radcliffe, 65, the husband
of Della Marie Reardon Radcliffe, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday,
May 27, 2014 at his residence in Lancaster, VA.
Mr. Radcliffe was born a son of John
P. Radcliffe and Lorine Ray Radcliffe on September 30, 1948, in Andrews,
SC. He was a graduate of Andrews High School; received an Associate
Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Trident Technical College
and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in this study from Virginia
State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S.
Air Force Reserve. He was a retired 29 year Electrical engineer of
Phillip Morris, USA and their International Divisions. He was an
avid outdoorsman who was content “dropping a hook”; “piddlin’ in the garden”;
and “let’s go exploring”. He was a devoted husband, beloved father,
and cherished brother; a man of solid character and firm moral standards
who leaves a legacy love, honor, and loyalty.
Harold and Della were married on August
6, 1977, and celebrated 29 years together. Their union was blessed
with: two sons, Stephen Christopher Radcliffe and LT. Jason Andrew (Jody)
Radcliffe; and one grandson, Jackson. Also surviving are: two brothers,
James (Linda) Radcliffe and Roger (Beth) Radcliffe; and a large extended
family including his father-in-law, Jackson Reardon and a number
of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents,
his mother-in-law, Emma Marie A. Reardon, and his sister, Carolyn R. Maddox.
A Home Going Celebration with Military
Honors will be 11 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Pennyroyal Memorial
Gardens directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8PM, Friday,
May 30, 2014 at the Georgetown Chapel.
