Glenn Dale “Peanut” Baxley
Glenn Dale “Peanut” Baxley,
60, beloved husband of Karen Owens Baxley, went home to be with the Lord,
Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Lake City Hospital.
Mr. Baxley was born the
son of Cleonis “Connie” Baxley and Madeline Cox Baxley in Florence.
He was a retired mechanic with Tupperware. He was a member of the
Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a member of the American Legion
Riders Chapter 84 and the Palmetto EZ Riders. He was an avid outdoorsman
and enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and motorcycle riding. He
was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, caring brother,
and loyal friend.
Peanut and Karen were married
on October 15, 1976 and celebrated 40 years together. Their
home was blessed with: two children, Kenneth Dale (Shelley) Baxley and
Steven Ladain (Jessica) Baxley; and five grandchildren, Cullen, Sarah Kensley,
Reid, Parker, and Tatum. He also leaves behind: a brother,
Earl (Teresa) Baxley; a sister, Janet (Eddie) Haney; and eight nieces and
nephews, Thomas Baxley, Timothy Baxley, Abbie Haney, Megan Haney, Jason
Parrott, Deidre Hardwick, and Beverly Owens.
He was predeceased by his
A Home Going Celebration
will be 2PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness
Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Martin Jackson.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery directed
by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8PM,
Tuesday evening, February 28, 2017 in the sanctuary of Rehobeth PH Church.
