Edith Lynn Blakeley DuBose, 73, beloved mother and the widow of Joe Scott Dubose, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday evening, April 20, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice.
Mrs. DuBose was born the daughter of John Edwin Blakeley and Minnie Frances Wilson on February 20, 1940 in Williamsburg County. She committed her life to acts of selfless giving for her family and gave an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished title – Beloved Mother.
Lynn and Joe were married on June 8, 1958 and celebrated 48 years together. Their home was blessed with: two children, Joe Scott (Gloria) DuBose Jr., and Marty Edwin (Tonya) DuBose; and a grandchild, Adam (April) DuBose. She also leaves behind: three sisters: Gladys Bath, Betty Benton, and Joyce McCrea.
She was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; and a sister Jeanette Mercer.
A Home Going Celebration will be 2 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Suttons United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 -8 PM, Monday evening, April 22, 2013 at the Andrews Chapel.
A special “Thank You” to our dear friend, Hope Smith for the care and compassion shown to our mother during her time of illness.
