Ervin Boyd “EB” Ackerman, 74, the beloved husband of Gloria D. Ackerman, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, November 7, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Ackerman was born the son of Ervin Watson Ackerman and Myrtle Lucille Martin Ackerman on October 21, 1940 in Williamsburg County.  He was a member of The Christian Fortress.  He enjoyed singing and was a member of the Little Red Barn Singers.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
 EB and Gloria were married on October 31, 1978 and celebrated 36 years together.  Their home was blessed with four children:  Jerry Lynn Kellis, Ronald C. (Martha) Helton, Dana A. (Tonya) Helton, Shawn (Ted) Woodell; five grandchildren, Jessica Floyd, Dana (Tidus) May, Danny Helton, Ken Morris, and Hannah Helton; and three great-grandchildren, Anna May, Lawton May, and Madlynn Floyd.  He also leaves behind:  a brother, Joe H. (Debbie) Ackerman; three sisters, Argerine A. (George) Blakely, Delloris A. Hill, Diane A. (Dennis) Mills; and loved like a brother, Talmadge Drawdy.
 He was predeceased by:  his parents; and two brothers, Robert A. Ackerman and Dewitt Watson Ackerman.
 A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Sunday, November 9, 2014, at The Christian Fortress.  Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.  Officiating will be Rev. Geraldine Bednego and Rev. Steve Wilson.
 Visitation will be 6-8PM, Saturday, November 8, 2014, in the sanctuary of The Christian Fortress.  
 McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ackerman Family.
