Edward Anthony Fortier, 77,
beloved husband of Daisy Verge Fortier, departed this life on Sunday, November
15, 2015 at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Mr. Fortier was born
the son of Edward Paul Fortier and Rose Grace Ciampi Fortier on July 2,
1938 in Orange, NJ. He was a retired bus driver with DeCamp Bus Lines.
He was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church where he faithfully served as a member of the Knights
of Columbus Council #1178 and was the Director for many years of the Columbian
Squires. Mr. Fortier was the umpire for the Bloomfield Little League
and was the Union Representative and former President of the Transit Union
Local 1317. He enjoyed camping and was a member and former
president of several camping groups.
He is survived by:
his wife; four children, Paul (Carmela) Fortier, Steven (Michelle) Fortier,
Anthony Fortier; and Michelle F. (Bill) Caulfield; a step-daughter, Wendy
Johnston; 10 grandchildren, Dawn Marie(Chris), Courtney(Tommy), Rachele,
Jay(Nina), Stephanie, Jessica, Lindsey, Samantha, Zach, and Ryan; six great-grandchildren,
Chris, Jr., Julian, Skylar, Gavin, Gage, and Hannah; and three step-grandchildren,
Devyn, Chelsey, and McKenzie. He is also survived by:
a sister, Irma Fortier.
He is predeceased
by: his parents; two brothers, Paul Fortier and Ernest Fortier; and
a sister, Florence Foisy,
Funeral Service will be
12PM, Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the Hancliffe Home for Funerals,
222 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
The Fortier family will
receive family and friends prior to the service from 11AM-12PM at the Funeral
