From the Director


Doris Thomas Harrington, 67, the widow of Joseph Armstrong Harrington, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. 
Mrs. Harrington was born the daughter of Tom Thurlo Thomas and Sarah Edith Thomas on May 4, 1947 in Georgetown County.    She attended the Andrews Church of God.  She was an avid Southern Gospel music lover and enjoyed going to the weekly singings at The Red Barn.  As a mother, she dedicated her life to acts of selfless giving and unconditional love for her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind:  eight children, Wayne (Kathy) Harrington, Glendora Long, Sonya (Mitchell) Lee, Jane (Laurie) Smith, Wanda Love, Joey (Tressa) Harrington, Tammy Love, and Nichole Harrington;  26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind:  a brother, Steve (Angela) Thomas; and a sister, Lessie Mae (JT) McCants.
She was predeceased by:  her parents; her husband; a brother, Daniel Thomas; and four sisters,  Sarah Newton, Dorothy Poston, Peggy Eaddy, and Margie Thomas.
A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Andrews Church of God.  Interment will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8PM, Monday, March 2, 2015 in the sanctuary of Andrews Church of God.
