After bidding his family and friends
farewell on Friday, March 15, 2013, Dan Ray, 77, departed to be present
with his Lord and join his waiting loved ones.
Mr. Ray was born the son of General
Marion Ray and Myrtle Russell Ray on September 16, 1935. He was educated
at the Oak Grove School near Andrews, SC and was the Business Manager of
Annandale Plantation at the time of his death. He will be remembered
for his 43 year legacy of Christian missions’ ministry throughout Central
and South America, “Gloria A Dios”.
Dan and Betty Jo Eaddy were married
July 10, 1957, and celebrated 55 years together. From their blessed
union survives: three children, Marsha (Wally) Kreisle, Cindy (Horace)
Goins, and Danny (Linda) Ray; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Dan bids farewell to: two brothers,
Bobbie Ray, and Frank Ray; three sisters, Betty Lou Goodwin, Elizabeth
Johnson, and Annie Mae Pugh.
He joins his departed family:
his parents; his brothers, General Marion Ray, Jr., Lethan Ray, David Ray,
James D. Ray, Don Ray, and John Ray; his sisters, Adrea Fulton, Ruth Forbes,
and Sara Ray.
Funeral Services will be 11 AM, Tuesday,
March 19, 2013 at the Georgetown First Baptist Church directed by Dr. Ted
Sherrill and administered by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral
Home. Committal ceremony will be 3 PM in the Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6–8 PM Monday, March
18, 2013 in the sanctuary of the Georgetown First Baptist Church.
