Doris Mae Smith Richardson, 75, the widow of Ronald Richardson, Sr., went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Trident Health System.
Mrs. Richardson was born the daughter of Larthan Alexander Smith and Mary Maybelle Hartfield Smith on February 26, 1942 in Pamplico.  She was a former employee of Doscherís and FoodLand.  She was a member of the Georgetown Church of God.   She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and caring sister. 
Doris and Ronald were married on January 4, 1959 and celebrated 51 years together.  Their home was blessed with:  four children, Ronald Richardson, Jr., Timothy Dale (Brenda) Richardson, Penny Lynn Richardson Barnes, and Doris Ann Richardson who passed as a child; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind:  a sister, Myrtle Ann Miller and a sister-in-law, Wendy Smith. 
She was predeceased by:  her parents; her husband; a daughter; a son-in-law, Donnie Barnes; and three brothers, Bill Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Donald Smith. 
A Home Going Celebration will be 1PM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Georgetown Church of God. Interment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
The Richardson family will receive family and friends prior to the service beginning at 11:30AM in the church sanctuary.
