From the Director

Delton “Droop” Gib Johnson, 68, a beloved father and the husband of Kathy Taylor Johnson, went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, September 10, 2016 at his residence. 
Mr. Johnson was born the son of Gib Johnson and Ola Forbes Johnson on April 13, 1948 in Georgetown County.  He was a retired employee of Jefferies Generating Station and was an United States Army Veteran.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother and loyal friend.  
Delton and Kathy were married on July 22, 1977 and celebrated 39 years together.  Their home was blessed with two children, Agnes Leola Johnson and Lawrence “Rudy” Taylor Johnson.  He is also survived by:  four brothers, Jimmy (Marlene) Johnson, Delbert “Dinky” (Lisa) Johnson, Leon (Sondra) Johnson, and Bruce (Marilyn) Johnson; two sisters, Bertha (Burnett) Duncan and Linda (Spudnick) Altman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by:  his parents; and two brothers, Buddy Johnson and Henry Johnson.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be 11AM, Monday, September 12, 2016 at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Interment will follow in the Bethel cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
 Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Andrews Chapel.
