Dorothy Clark McConnell,
86, the widow of Charles R. McConnell, Sr., went home to be with the Lord,
Friday, October 9, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. McConnell was born
the daughter of Raymond C. Clark and Viola Sweat Clark on September 22,
1934 in Palatka, FL. She was a retired trainer for machine operators
and former Store Manager with Oneita Knitting Mills. She was a member
of the Elim United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving
mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister, and a loyal friend.
Dorothy was born the second
of four children: Lorraine Gibbs, Josephine Bennett, and Raymond
She is survived by:
four children, Deborah “Debbie” McConnell Snider (Rolan), Becky M. Goude
(Jeff), Charles “Chuck” McConnell (Lorie), and Roger “Elton” McConnell;
nine grandchildren, Ryan Taylor (Alisa), Ashley Shaver (Chris), Holly Small
(Joey), Allie McConnell, Melanie McConnell, Cassie McConnell, Jacob Snider,
Jordan Snider (Baker), and Lacey Shipp (Chris); her brother, Raymond; and
her lifelong friend and caregiver, Demetra Mincey.
She was predeceased by:
her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Lorraine and Josephine.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 2PM, Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Elim United Methodist Church,
8897 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Andrews. Interment will follow in the
Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral
The McConnell family will
receive family and friends from 5-7PM, Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the
Andrews Chapel, 610 S Rosemary Ave, Andrews.
