Mr. Wessinger was born the son Harold Warren Wessinger and Mary Louise Ford Wessinger on October 1, 1959 in Charleston.  He was a retired employee with Santee Cooper where he was the technical director of training and was an active volunteer for the line workers Rodeo and PHAD demonstrations with local schools.  He was a United States Army Veteran.   He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and camping with his wife.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren who proudly wore the title of “Best Granddaddy”.  He was a former member of the First Christian Church of Moncks Corner where he served as a deacon; and was currently a member of Point North Church.   He was a man of Godly character and firm moral standards.  He was a scholar of the Word and even in his final years in which he was confined; he spent his time writing sermons and spreading the Gospel to all who would listen.  He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished granddaddy, a caring brother, and a loyal friend.
Claud and Betty were married on May 3, 1984 and celebrated 33 years together.  Their home was blessed with:  two children, Amy Lynn (Trinity) Hartley, and Erin Paige (Daniel) Lecroy; a son from a previous marriage, Chad Logan (Lindsey) Wessinger; and ten grandchildren, MacKenzie, Halle, Waylon, Addison, Ava, Julianna, Logan, Chase, Cayleigh and Lexi.  He also leaves behind: a sister, Toni (Bob) Westbury.
He was predeceased by:  his parents; and a sister, Pamela Wessinger.
