Claude Treadwell “Ted” Dingle III, 69, beloved husband of Linda Wheeler Dingle, went home to be with the Lord on  Sunday , May 2,  2010 at his residence in Hamlet, NC.

Mr. Dingle was born the son of Dorothy Davis Dingle and the late Claude Treadwell Dingle, Jr. on March 27, 1941 in Sumter, SC.  He was a graduate of Riverside Military Academy; attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Junior College; a graduate of the South Carolina State Highway Patrol Academy; and numerous State Law Enforcement trainings.  He was a Navy veteran; a South Carolina State Trooper for 7+ years; and was a retired Wood Products Supervisor for the International Paper Company, Georgetown Mill. He was a faithful member of the Wayne United Methodist Church.

Ted and Linda were married November 10, 1968 and celebrated 41 years together.  From their blessed union survives a daughter, Wendy Dingle-Grant; and a granddaughter, Lillian “Lily” Cassidy Grant. Also surviving is a sister, Margaret D. Moody; and a large extended family.

He was predeceased by his father.

Celebration of Life service with Recognition of Military and Community Service will be 2 PM, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Wayne United Methodist Church with interment in the Harmony Cemetery directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in the sanctuary of Wayne United Methodist Church. 

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Richmond County and Wayne United Methodist Church. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Dingle family.
