Charlton Hal Blakely, 59,
loving husband of Ann Poston Blakely and the beloved son of Rembert and
Delores Blakely, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 5, 2017
at McLeod Hospice House.
Mr. Blakely was born on
May 9, 1958 in Georgetown. He was a 1976 graduate of Andrews Academy
and was an employee with Nucor Steel. He was a member of the
Andrews First PH Church. He volunteered as a Little League
Coach for Georgetown County in baseball and basketball for over 20 years.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, faithful
son, and a loyal friend. He loved spending time with his family and
brought a smile to everyone.
Charlton and Ann were married
on May 30, 1981 and celebrated 36 years together. Their home was
blessed with three children, Taylor B. (Brandon) Horne, Hal (Brenda Mitchell)
Blakely, and Braxton Blakely; and five grandchildren, Madelyn, Hayden,
Kaden, Haley, and Aurbree. He is also survived by: his mother, Delores
Blakely; a sister, Valarie Blakely; his in-laws, Walter (Shelvia) Poston;
two brother-in-laws, Allen (Robin) Poston and Ricky (Beth) Poston; and
a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by: his
father, Rembert Blakely.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 4PM, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness
Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dean Baber. Internment will
follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel
of McKenzie Funeral Home.
The Blakely family will
receive family and friends 6-8PM, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the sanctuary
of Andrews PH Church.
