Charlie Gary Mixon, 78, beloved
husband of Jeanette Taylor Mixon, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday,
December 12, 2017, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Mixon was born the son
of Daniel Gary Mixon and Dora Bailey Mixon on May 3, 1939 in Andrews.
He was a 1958 graduate of Andrews High School and was a United States Army
Veteran. At the age of twelve he ran his own snow cone business for
several years before going to work as a cook for Mr. John Osbourne at Osbourne’s
Restaurant. He retired from M&T Chemicals in 1996. He was
a member of the Piney Forest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon
and trustee. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Lynches River
Bass Club. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather,
caring brother and a loyal friend.
Charlie and Jeanette were
married on June 4, 1961 and celebrated 56 years together. There home
was blessed with: three children, Lucinda M. (Reed) Bryan, Lisa M.
(Steven) Carl, Scotty Daniel (Daphne) Mixon; four grandchildren, Wesley
Bryan, Bradley (Deanna) Ray, Jamie (Shelby) Newton, and Benjie Bryan; and
seven great-grandchildren, Mallory, Owen, Renn, Sully, Abbie, Bella, and
Christopher. He also leaves behind: two sisters, Lillian M.
(Mike) Mihalakis and Elizabeth M. All.
He was predeceased by:
his father, Daniel Gary Mixon.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 11AM, Friday, December 15, 2017 at Piney Forest Baptist Church,
656 Piney Forest Road, Andrews, SC. Interment will follow in
the Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie
Visitation will be 6-8PM,
