Nell Elliott McCants, 87, a beloved Mother and Grandmother; and the widow
of Charles Richard McCants, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December
13, 2014 at her residence.
McCants was born the daughter of Henry Calvin Elliott and Cary Shellie
Wilson Elliott on January 13, 1927 in Williamsburg County. She was
a member of the Andrews Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served in
the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Women’s Ministry. She
was a devoted wife, a beloved mother, and cherished grandmother.
Her greatest joy and her life’s dedication were to her family and her church
family. “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who
fears the Lord, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:31).
leaves behind: three children, Rebecca “Becky” (Rev. Tim) Howell,
Charles R. (Penny) McCants, Jr., and Stephen Rodney (Tracy) McCants; and
seven grandchildren, Melanie Gibson, Stephanie (Jeff) Daniels, Rebecca
(Thomas) Rotan, Kyle (Heather) McCants, Kirk McCants, Rod McCants, and
Robert McCants; and nine great-grandchildren, Morgan, Bryce, Mackenzie,
Connor, Ashlyn, Addison, Jude, Kallie, and Korlie. She also leaves
behind: a sister, Opal Taylor; and loved like a sister, Jeanette
was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; three brothers, Henry
Elliott, Johnnie Elliott and Connie Elliott; and four sisters, Thelma Skipper,
Mamie Lee Cannon; Myrtis Elliott, and Carmen Weaver.
Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Andrews
First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Andrews
Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
