From the Director


Barbara Jean Sparkman Gamble, 77, the beloved wife of Charles James “Jim” Gamble, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Tidelands Community Hospice.
Mrs. Gamble was born the daughter of Duncan Bennett Sparkman and Bertha Maye Wise Sparkman-Green on October 20, 1938 in Dillon.  She was a former employee of Oneita Knitting and was a Certified Nursing assistant since 1996.   She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. 
Jim and Barbara were married on September 25, 1959 and celebrated 56 years together.  There home was blessed with:  five children, Sharon Gamble, Jimmy Gamble, Mary Gamble, Wayne (Donna) Gamble and Judy (Cecil) Jones; ten grandchildren, Stacey, Nicole, Tracy, David, Sabrina, Sonya, Katrina, Daniel, Tammy, and Kimberly; and eighteen great-grandchildren, Michaela, Brittany, Austin, Brandon, Hayden, Daniel, Dalton, Mason, JC, Bradley, Chris, Gabriel, Tyler, Addisyn, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Haleigh, and Jason.  She also leaves behind two brothers, Billy (Jeanette) Sparkman and Hughie (Kathy) Green.
She was predeceased by:  her parents; a great-grandson, Joseph Bryan Port; two sisters, Ruby Gramlin and Frances Sparkman. 
 A Graveside Service will be 3PM, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Sampit United Methodist Church Cemetery directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. 
The Gamble family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 1:30-2:30PM in the Sampit United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
