Barbara Jean Nesbitt Barrineau, 70, the beloved wife of Charles W. Barrineau, Sr., finished her earthly race and went home to be with her Lord and join her waiting loved ones on Thursday evening, August 9, 2018 at MUSC.
Mrs. Barrineau was born a daughter of Weldon Levine Nesbitt, Sr. and Bertie Lutia Osborne Nesbitt on March 27, 1948 in Georgetown.   She was a 1966 graduate of Winyah High School; a retired medical receptionist for Dr. Frances Doyle and Dr. Ernest J.  Jean and Charles were married on July 29, 1967 and celebrated 51 years together.  Their home was blessed with: three children, Bertie Caroline Barrineau, Kimberly B. Hewitt, and Charles W. (Stephanie) Barrineau; six grandchildren, Joshua Michael (Jamie) Strickland, Megan H. (Arturo) Castro, Steven Lee Hewitt, Jr., Micah Elias Barrineau, Aiden Jackson Barrineau, and Aliyah Marie Barrineau; and five great grandchildren, Hanna Lynn Strickland, Kylie Jade Strickland, Joshua Mason Strickland, Keira Sky Castro, and Scottie Maverick Castro.  She leaves behind: two brothers Weldon Nesbitt, Jr. and Gerald Winston (Brenda) Nesbitt; one sister, Kathy N. (Al) Wilson; and a large extended family including, Annette L. Nesbitt, Richard (Sharon) Fulton, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by: her parents; a brother, Bobby Otto Nesbitt; and two sisters, Shirley N. Fulton and Exie Mae (Patsy) Bourne and her husband, Frank.
A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Officiating will be Rev. Mark Wilson, Rev. Susan Todd, and Rev. Tim McKenzie. Interment directed by McKenzie Funeral Home will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The Barrineau family will receive family and friends 5-8PM, Sunday, August 12, 2018 in the Rock PHC sanctuary.
