Beatrice Johnson Cooper, 93, widow of Marvin Thomas Cooper, went home to be with her Lord and join her awaiting loved ones on Tuesday morning, September 18, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. Cooper was born a daughter of William C. Johnson and Anzie A. Lambert Johnson on December 31, 1918 in the Earles Community of Andrews, SC. She was a 32½ year Inspector for Oneita Industries. She was a faithful lifetime member of the St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served for many years in numerous positions including former president of the Women’s Ministry and 60 plus years as a Sunday School teacher. She committed her life to acts of selfless giving as a wife and mother; to fervent prayer and devoted Bible study as a woman of Godliness; and demonstrated unconditional love to her family and friends earning her the distinguished title – Beloved and Godly Mother. She leaves behind: two children, Dr. Alvin T. (Mary) Cooper and Janet C. (Rupert) Pope; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; three brothers, Levis (Alice) Johnson, Bobby (Shama) Johnson, JC (Lydia) Johnson; one sister, Mildred (HB) Shirley; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by: her
parents; her husband; a son, Bobby Dunham Cooper; a granddaughter, Gwen
Alexander; four brothers, Russell Johnson, Hubert Johnson, Lawrence Johnson,
and Calvin C. “Pete” Johnson; and one sister, Martha J. Cooper.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM,
Thursday evening, September 20, 2012, in the Saints Delight PHC sanctuary.
