Mrs. Howard was born the daughter of Mack Capps and Edna Lillian Harrelson Capps on October 13, 1934 in Hemingway. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a devoted wife; loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister, and a loyal friend.
She is survived by: three children, Wendell Howard (Kathy), Patsy Tanner (Michael); and Sonya Creel (Charles); six grandchildren, Kim Elliott (Timmy), Melissa DuRant (Brandon), Mikie Tanner (Jessica), Adam Tanner (Theresa), Lisa Howard (Pablo Escobar) and Jessica Rogers (Sam); fourteen great-grandchildren, Ashley Elliott, Macie Elliott, Amelia DuRant, Lydia DuRant, Jake Tanner, Haley Marie Tanner, Hunter Tanner, Evan Tanner, Madison Beamon, Halley Beamon, Anna Rogers, Jase Rogers, Alexandra Escobar, and Michael Escobar; and loved as her own, Haylee VanVlake. She is also survived by: a brother, Jimmy Capps (Linda); and two sisters, Rena Pope and Blanche Capps.
She was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; a son, Michael Howard; a brother, William M. “Bubba” Capps; and three sisters, Lottie Rhetta Capps Howard, Dorothy Powers, and Lucille Anderson.
A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Stone and Rev. Ricky West.
Per the family’s request, we ask those who plan to attend to arrive 30 minutes prior to the service.
