Ashley LeAnn Walters Avant,
30, beloved mother and the wife of Kenneth Lee Avant, went home to be with
the Lord, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Avant was born the
daughter of Rev. Raymond Lee Walters, Jr. and Patricia Ann Cox Walters
on November 18, 1988 in Charleston. She was a 2007 graduate of Andrews
High School and was an employee of Maring & Moyer, LLC. She was
a active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she served in the Children’s
Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Sound Tec., and volunteer Event Coordinator.
She was a volunteer for the 8 Oaks Athletic Complex. Like her love
for vibrant colors, her life displayed rich and contagious joy and laughter
that lightened every room she entered. Her greatest accomplishment
was that of a daughter, wife and mother. Throughout her life she
gave unselfishly and loved unconditionally. She leaves behind a Godly
heritage to her family and to all who knew her.
Ashley and Ken were
married on April 30, 2011 at Cornerstone Baptist Church and their home
was blessed with three daughters, AnLee Ren Avant, Lydia Rae Avant and
Evie Pearl Avant. She is survived also by: her parents, Lee
and Patricia; two brothers, Michael Jason Walters (Katelin) and Patrick
Lee Walters (Rebecca); her nieces and nephews, Camie Lynn Samson, Michael
Caden Walters, Jude Morris Walters, Parker Lee Walters, and Sullivan Grace
Walters; her paternal grandmother, Doris Walters; her maternal grandmother,
Patsy Cox; and her extended family-in-love: parents, Mr. & Mrs. Harvey
(Eulene) Avant; Grandmother Mrs. Jeanette G. Fowler; Uncle Norris Joye;
her sister, Jennifer A. Blakely (Andy); her brother, William Harve Avant
(Lisa); nieces and nephews, Drew Blakely (Maci), Kendal Blakely, Dorothy
Avant, and Will Avant; and a great-nephew, Blade Blakely.
She was predeceased by:
her maternal grandfather, RJ “Shorty” Cox; her paternal grandfather, Raymond
L. Walters, Sr.; her maternal-in-love grandfather, Kinoth Fowler; and Aunt
Minnie Pearl Joye.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 2PM, Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Cornerstone Baptist Church,
1797 Brick Chimney Road, Georgetown. Internment will follow in the Pennyroyal
Memorial Gardens directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral
The Avant Family will
receive family and friends 6-9PM, Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in the sanctuary
of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to
any Operation Christmas Child program in Ashley’s honor.
