Annie Lou High Etheridge,
77, the widow of Bobby Joe Etheridge, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday,
August 19, 2020 at McLeod Seacoast.
Mrs. Etheridge was born
the daughter of James High and Mary Leigh Story High on September 8, 1942
in Georgetown. She was a retired commercial seamstress with
Oneita Knitting Mills, Kingstree Knits, and Georgetown Dress Plant.
Ann and Bobby were charter and founding members of Canaan Free Will Baptist
of the Pentecostal Faith Church and they were instrumental in the building
and establishment of the Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. She attended
Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where she served in Women’s Ministry,
Hospitality, and VBS. She was a good mother, wife, and friend to
many. The relentless hours spent in prayer and her Christian legacy
were her greatest attributes. She loved all and was loved by all
who passed through her life.
Ann was born the third of
four siblings: James William “Stub” High, Kenneth Bell “Sonny Boy” High
and Carl Eugene High.
Ann and Bobby were married
on October 30, 1959 and celebrated 59 years together. Their home
was blessed with two children, Donna Jean (Tom) Lippert and James Rembert
“Bert” (Lora) Etheridge; five grandchildren, Jessica Goins, Wendell (Meghan)
Goins, Kimberly Lippert, Michaela Etheridge, and Dalton Etheridge; three
great-grandchildren, Tatum, Greyson, and Jackson.
She was predeceased by:
her parents; her husband; and her siblings.
A Home Going Celebration
will be 2PM, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Interment directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home will
follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The Etheridge family will
receive family and friends prior to the service from 1-2PM in the church
