Mrs. McCants was born the daughter of Berton Taylor Eaddy and Nellie Alna Hughes Eaddy on April 26, 1930 in Kingstree. She was a member of the Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She had a servant’s heart and gave unselfishly to everyone. She was a loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister, and loyal friend.
She leaves behind: three children, Michael Jerome (Carla) McCants, Sheran M. (Roger) Smoak, and Laura Gayle (Gene) Johnson; five grandchildren, Angela (Darell) Gibson, David (Renee) McCants, April (Ashley) Cannon, Christian Smoak, and Gabriel (Sarah) Smoak; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind: three sisters, Bert McCrea, Wista Brown, and Selma Jean Malay.
She was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; two grandchildren, Rhonda Ward and Craig Smoak; a brother, Capers Eaddy; and six sisters, Kethie Thompson, Dora Mae Jowers, Pauline Bowls, Leona McKenzie, Moeaden McCrea, and Wannah Davis.
A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
The McCants family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 12PM –1:30PM in the church sanctuary.
